Privacy Policy

We keep the minimum needed to run a coupon: who you are (an ASU email), what you claimed, and whether you redeemed it. We do not sell data, we do not run advertising trackers, and we do not tell businesses who you are.

Your data is held by Hindu YUVA - Youth for Unity, Virtues, and Action at Arizona State University, a registered student organization, referred to here as Hindu YUVA at ASU. This platform is run by ASU students, for ASU students.

Arizona State University does not hold this data and does not operate this platform. You sign in with your ASU Microsoft account, so ASU handles that sign-in and knows you used it, but everything described below sits with the chapter, not with the university. ASU carries no responsibility or liability for this platform or for the data in it. This is not an ASU service and is not covered by ASU’s own privacy notices.

Hindu YUVA USA, the national organization, does not hold it either and carries no responsibility for it. We do not send your data to them. This is a fully chapter-run initiative.

A request about your data should come to us, at the address in clause 10. ASU and the national organization cannot act on one.

Your account. Your @asu.edu email address, and a display name if you set one (it appears on your own coupon pass). You sign in with Microsoft through ASU, so ASU handles your password. We never see it.

Your coupons. Which offer you claimed, when, whether and when it was redeemed, and a copy of the offer’s terms as they read at the moment you claimed.

Your preferences. Which kinds of email you have opted into, and any unsubscribe or bounce we have recorded for your address.

Housekeeping. Rate-limit counters to stop abuse, and a record of which version of our terms you accepted and when.

Not who you are. A partner’s dashboard shows which of their offers was redeemed and when. Your name and email address are never sent to a partner by the platform.

Naturally, staff at the counter can see whatever is on the pass you show them and whatever you tell them in person. That part is up to you.

Business name, short code, address, opening hours, website and social links, logo, and the owner’s contact email. Most of this is shown publicly in the app, which is the point of a listing. The owner’s account email is not shown publicly.

We are a small student organisation and we do not run our own infrastructure. The platform is hosted on Vercel, the database and sign-in are Supabase, sign-in itself goes through Microsoft and ASU, and email is sent by Resend. Those providers process data on our behalf so the service can work.

We do not sell your data, share it for advertising, or give it to anyone else, except where we are legally required to.

Being straight with you about one limit: where you have already redeemed a coupon, the record of that redemption may be kept, because a partner relies on it and because deleting it would corrupt their own history and our cap accounting. If that applies to you we will say so and explain exactly what is being kept and why, rather than quietly keeping it.

You can turn off any optional email yourself on your notifications page, or through the unsubscribe link in any message. That takes effect immediately and does not need to go through us.

Account and coupon records are kept while the chapter runs the platform and while they are needed to settle a question about a redemption. Unsubscribe and bounce records are kept indefinitely on purpose: forgetting them is how someone gets emailed again after asking not to be.

This is built for ASU students. It is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their information. If you believe we have, contact us and we will remove it.
