Terms of Use
These terms apply to you as a student using the perks platform run by Hindu YUVA - Youth for Unity, Virtues, and Action at Arizona State University ("Hindu YUVA at ASU", "we", "us"). By signing in you agree to them.
1. What this is
We list offers from local businesses and let you claim one. When you claim a coupon, we show you a pass with a rotating code. You show that pass at the business and they give you the discount.
It is free. We do not charge you anything and there is no payment system in this app.
2. Who runs this, and who does not
This app is run by Hindu YUVA - Youth for Unity, Virtues, and Action at Arizona State University, a registered student organization, referred to here as Hindu YUVA at ASU. It is built and operated by ASU students, for ASU students.
Arizona State University does not run this app. ASU does not operate, endorse, supervise or underwrite it, and carries no responsibility or liability for it, for any offer on it, or for anything that happens through it. Signing in with your ASU account is just how we check you are a student. It does not make this an ASU service.
Hindu YUVA USA, the national organization, does not run it either and carries no responsibility for it. This is entirely the ASU chapter’s project.
3. Who can use it
You need an @asu.edu email address and you should be a current ASU student. One account per person. Do not share your account or your coupon codes.
4. The offer is the business's, not ours
The discount is an offer from that business to you. We are not a party to it. We do not sell anything, take your money, or guarantee the quality, safety or availability of anything a business provides.
If a business refuses to honour a valid coupon, or the experience is not what the offer described, please tell us. We will take it up with them and we can remove a partner who does not honour their offers. But we cannot give you the discount ourselves, and we are not responsible for making it good.
The conditions shown on your pass when you claimed are the conditions that apply. Businesses may add their own reasonable conditions, such as dine-in only, one per visit, or not with other offers. Those are in the offer text, so read it before you claim.
5. Using a coupon fairly
A coupon is single-use and tied to your account. Do not screenshot and share a code, try to redeem the same coupon twice, or use a coupon you did not claim. We may remove your access if you do.
If a redemption is recorded by mistake, a business can ask us to undo it. If an admin approves, the coupon comes back to you. No money is involved in that at any point, because there is none in the system.
Some offers are capped at a number of claims. When the cap is reached, it is gone. Claiming holds a slot for a limited time; if you do not redeem in time the slot returns to the pool.
6. Email we send you
We send transactional email you asked for, such as signing in or resetting a password. We only send announcements or expiry reminders if you have turned them on, and every one carries an unsubscribe link that we honour.
You can change any of this on your notifications page at any time.
7. Provided as is
We are a student organisation running this on a best-effort basis. The app is provided “as is”. We do not promise it will be available when you want it, that any particular offer will exist, or that a coupon will still be there tomorrow.
To the fullest extent permitted by law, we are not liable for any loss arising from using the app or from any dealing with a business you found through it.
8. Your data
What we store and who can see it is set out in our Privacy Policy. In short: businesses see that one of their offers was redeemed and when, never who redeemed it.
9. Changes and contact
We may update these terms; each version is numbered and dated. Reach us at asu.hinduyuva@gmail.com. Governed by the laws of the State of Arizona.
