Partner Terms
These terms apply to a local business ("you") listing offers to ASU students through the perks platform operated by Hindu YUVA - Youth for Unity, Virtues, and Action at Arizona State University ("Hindu YUVA at ASU", "we", "us"). By accepting them you agree to everything below.
1. What this platform is, and is not
We run a listing and verification service. We show your offer to students, we let a student claim it, and we give you a way to check at your counter that a claim is genuine and has not already been used.
That is the entire service. We are not a party to whatever you and the student agree at your counter. We do not sell your goods, set your prices, take orders, or act as your agent.
2. Who you are agreeing with, and who is not involved
Your agreement is with Hindu YUVA - Youth for Unity, Virtues, and Action at Arizona State University, a registered student organization, referred to here as Hindu YUVA at ASU. This is a student-run initiative: built, operated and staffed by ASU students, for ASU students.
Arizona State University is not a party to this agreement. ASU does not operate, endorse, supervise or underwrite this platform, and carries no responsibility or liability for it, for any offer listed on it, or for anything arising from it, at any point. A platform that serves ASU students is not an ASU service, and nothing here should be read as ASU standing behind it.
Hindu YUVA USA, the national organization, is not a party either and carries no responsibility or liability for this platform. This is a fully chapter-run initiative. The national organization does not operate it and has no involvement in it.
If you have a problem with this platform or with anything on it, raise it with us. Raising it with ASU or with the national organization will not reach anyone who can act on it.
3. No money passes through us, ever
We never hold, transmit, process, collect or refund money. Not yours, not a student’s. There is no payment system in this platform. The discount is given by you, at your own point of sale, out of your own till.
It follows that we cannot pay you, reimburse you, or recover value on your behalf, in any circumstance. We have no mechanism to do it and we do not accept that obligation.
The platform is free for you to use. We do not charge you a listing fee, a commission, or a fee per redemption.
4. A reversal is not a refund
If a redemption was recorded in error, whether a code was scanned twice, the wrong customer was served, or a coupon was marked used for a sale that never happened, you can ask us to undo the record of it.
If an admin approves that request, one thing happens: the coupon goes back to the student so they can use it another time. Nothing else. No money moves, because there is no money in the system to move.
A reversal is a correction to our records of what was redeemed. It is not a refund, a chargeback, a credit, or a payment, and it does not create any obligation on us or on the student to pay you anything.
If you gave a discount you did not intend to give, that is a matter between you and your customer. We can correct our record. We cannot recover the value of the discount, and we are not responsible for it.
5. Your offers are yours
You write your own offers and you set your own conditions. By publishing one you confirm that you are authorised to make that offer for your business, that it is accurate, and that you will honour it.
The terms shown on a student’s pass at the moment they claimed are the terms that apply to that claim. We store a copy of your offer’s terms onto each claim when it is made, precisely so a later edit cannot change a deal a student has already taken.
You can pause or edit an offer at any time. Pausing stops new claims. It does not cancel coupons students already hold, so please honour those until they expire.
You are responsible for your offers complying with the law, including any advertising, food-safety, licensing or alcohol rules that apply to your business.
6. What we do and do not verify
A student account requires an @asu.edu email address, and we check that. We do not verify that a person is currently enrolled at ASU, and we do not verify their identity, age, or anything else about them.
Each coupon carries a rotating single-use code, and our records stop the same coupon being redeemed twice. That is a safeguard, not a guarantee. The decision to serve a customer is always yours, and you may refuse a coupon you believe is being misused.
7. What you can see about students
Your dashboard shows you which of your offers was redeemed and when. It does not show you who redeemed it. We do not send you students’ names, email addresses or contact details, and you should not ask a student for them as a condition of honouring a coupon.
Information you give us about your business, such as name, address, hours, logo and contact details, is shown publicly in the app. See our Privacy Policy.
8. The service is provided as is
We are a student organisation running this on a best-effort basis. The platform is provided “as is”, with no warranty of any kind.
We do not promise that it will be available at any particular time, including at your counter when you want to verify a code. We do not promise any level of student traffic, any number of redemptions, or any commercial result whatsoever from taking part.
If the platform is unavailable, whether to honour a coupon is your decision.
9. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, we are not liable to you for any lost profit, lost revenue, lost goodwill, or any indirect, incidental or consequential loss arising from your use of the platform. That includes the value of any discount given, whether given in error, in reliance on our records, or at all.
Because no money passes between us, our total liability to you is limited to the amount you have paid us to use the platform, which is nothing.
10. Your responsibility for your own conduct
You are responsible for your offers, your goods and services, and how you treat students who present a coupon. You agree to indemnify us against claims brought against us that arise from those things.
11. Either of us can stop
You can leave at any time. Tell us and we will remove your listing. Please honour coupons already claimed until they expire.
We can remove or suspend a listing at any time, for any reason, including if we believe offers are not being honoured. We are not obliged to give a reason and we owe you nothing for doing it.
12. Email we send you
We email the contact address on your account when something happens on it: a redemption alert or daily digest, and the outcome of a reversal request you filed. Those are part of running the listing, so they are not something you opt out of while you are a partner.
We do not add your address to a marketing list and we do not pass it to anyone else.
13. Our own people
Our officers and admins are also ASU students, and they can claim and redeem offers like anyone else. They get no special treatment: an officer’s claim consumes a slot on a capped offer exactly like a student’s, and appears in your redemption log the same way.
14. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms. Each version is numbered and dated, and we record which version you accepted and when.
If we make a change that materially affects you, we will tell you at the contact address we hold for your business. Continuing to list offers after that means the new version applies.
15. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Arizona. If something goes wrong, contact us first. We would much rather sort it out directly than formally.
